Effective 24 September 2025, the ATO will update the Study and Training Support Loans withholding tax schedule.

These updates reflect the reduced compulsory repayment thresholds for PAYG withholding.
There is no requirement to recalculate the STSL withholding amounts from payments that were made between 1 July and 23 September. Employers should only apply the updated STSL withholding rates for all payments made on or after 24 September 2025. You can read more about the changes at this link

In Jobpac, you will need to update the HELP Tax Table Tab via the Tax Levels Maintenance menu option in your Payroll Entity. This Tax Table corresponds to the updated Schedule 8. We will be installing a patch to Jobpac this coming Tuesday evening, September 23rd, 2025, that will allow you to make this tax table adjustment. You will not be able to adjust the Tax Table until this patch is installed, as new offset fields are required on the screen for the new formulas. Unfortunately, we can not install the patch before that date due to a fundamental change in the way the new schedule bracketing works. Please make your Tax Level changes at the appropriate time before Payments are made on or after 24th September 2025.

You can access a Knowledge Base article at this link that details the exact changes that you will need to make before Payruns after the new withholding schedule comes into effect. The support article is available on the Support Portal.

Kind Regards
